Our green recipe is by far the best way to get your baby to eat their greens! This blend of Kale and Spinach are by far the healthiest thing you will introduce to baby this month.

Mixed with the applesauce you can barely taste the greens, but you know the iron and fiber is there! I mixed the leftovers of this with some protein powder and sucked one down for myself and was surprised at how mild the flavor was given how much spinach I packed into this recipe.

Ingredients

1 bag Spinach

1 bunch Kale

1 cup Applesauce

1- We are going to create a blanching station to pasteurize our greens. Place 1 pot on the stove top to boil, and 1 in the sink filled with ice water.

2- Wash and remove the thickest Kale stems. Place the Kale in a small metal colander, and place that in the boiling pot. Use a fork to push the greens down into the water. Boil for 8-10 minutes.

3- Now transfer to the Ice bath, colander and all. Lift out after 30 seconds and gentle push down to strain out some of the water. Transfer the Kale to your food processor of blender.

4- Now repeat the last 2 steps with the Spinach, only boiling it for 3-4 minutes. Spinach cooks down a lot when boiled, be ready to add more to the colander.

5- Add the cup of apple sauce to the blender full of Spinach and Kale and blend until smooth. You do not want stringy bits here so over blend rather than under!
